Hi, nice to meet you. My name is Jolie and I have a huge passion for travel and immersing myself in new cultures and languages.
Originally, I am from Maastricht, but I have lived in Costa Rica, Brazil, and Spain. Over the years I have started courses in Spanish, Portuguese, Swedish, Papiamento, and Japanese, therefore I understand the struggles and the euphoria that is inherent to foreign language learning.
With master’s degrees in education, Literary Translation, and Anthropology from Utrecht University, I have been teaching Spanish, English, and Dutch
for over 8 years in Dutch high schools and professional organizations.
Since 2012 I work as a teacher educator of Spanish at the University of Applied Science Fontys and have been combining this with teaching Dutch to expats and refugees in both Utrecht and Amsterdam. I am grateful to get to know people from all over the globe who give me an insight in their culture whilst teaching one of the funniest languages, Dutch. My focus lies on creating a student-centered curriculum to target fluency while developing cultural awareness. I am very excited to be a part of the Tupkertaaltraining team while helping you to pursue your dreams of blowing away your colleagues and friends when speaking Dutch.
