This language training is a unique collaboration between Tupkertaaltraining and Homan BV. Both organizations combine their expertise to offer a practical course that prepares electrical technicians with a non-Dutch background for communication in the Dutch technical sector.
Tupkertaaltraining has 25 years of experience in providing language training for individuals, skilled migrants, expats, and international companies. Homan BV, with over 85 years as a reliable partner in electrical engineering, specializes in temporary power supply, generator rental, location and theme lighting, and solar panels.
Thanks to this collaboration, technicians not only learn the basics of the Dutch language but also specific technical terminology and safety concepts relevant to the electrical engineering field. Additionally, participants have the opportunity to directly apply their knowledge during practical sessions at Homan BV's workplace.
Objective:
The training provides electrical technicians with a migration background the language skills they need to communicate confidently and effectively with colleagues, clients, and other stakeholders in the electrical engineering sector. The target language level is A1, preparing participants for an inclusive and successful career in the electrical engineering field.
Course Content
Basic Dutch
- Basic grammar: verb conjugations, sentence structure.
- Vocabulary for everyday situations.
Technical Terminology for Electrical Engineering
- Essential words and phrases for electrical engineering work environments.
- Common terms and concepts in electrical engineering projects and tasks.
- Safety terminology and instructions specific to electrical engineering.
Communication Skills
- Practical communication with colleagues, supervisors, and clients.
- Receiving, giving, and understanding short instructions in an electrical engineering context.
- Customer contact and professional conduct within electrical engineering projects.
Methodology
- Class Format: Classroom-based and group-oriented, with a maximum of 12 participants.
- Instructors: Experienced trainers with knowledge of the electrical engineering sector and expertise in guiding non-native speakers.

- Course Duration: 24 hours, spread over 6 Saturdays.
