You are able to understand simple words and sentences regarding yourself, your family, work, everyday life where speakers address you slowly .
You are able to understand simple words and sentences in standard texts like announcements, posters, catalogs, advertising brochures.
Straight from the beginning we encourage you to speak Dutch. You will learn how to introduce yourself; what do you say when your meet someone, when you arrive somewhere and when you leave. You can give information about yourself: ‘Ik woon in Amstelveen’ ‘Mijn hobby is reizen en koken,’ You learn how to order in a bar or restaurant. Talking to neighbours, colleagues, chat about the weather, congratulate and make conversation in shops.
You learn to write simple texts like a whatsapp- or e-mail message, a congratulation on a birthday or a birth and you learn how to fill out forms with personal information.
In this course you will learn simple Dutch grammar rules. Using these you will be able to make a correct wordorder, conjugate verbs in the present tense and talk about your day, weekend or holiday: ‘Wat heb je gedaan?’ ‘Ik heb gegeten, gedronken, gezwommen.’
The beginners course Basic is for everyone who does not speak Dutch yet and who has finished a secondary education.
You are able to get around in everyday life, you dare to ask and answer simple questions. As you will have a basic knowledge of Dutch and the Dutch culture you will feel more at home.
The course takes 12 weeks, a two-hour training each week in the evening or during the day. The average amount of homework is approximately 3 hours a week.
After succesfully finishing the course you will have reached the A1 level. Next level training will be Beginners Plus.
In all our trainings we pay lots of attention to listening, reading, speaking and writing at the level that fits your course.
